Our Story
Some people don't just listen to music. They're in it. Sound Society is built for them.
I'm a former professional musician, and I made the brand I wished existed — apparel for everyone inside the craft. Not just music fans. The people doing the work.
The idea was simple: what if a record store made apparel? Not a merch table, not a band tee — a real store where every design is a record, and you flip through the aisles until you find the one that's yours. The difference is who it's for. It's for the kid learning their first scales and the player forty years into the harmony. The touring hired gun and the weekend cover band. The jazz purist, the classical player, the indie songwriter, the pop session pro, the rapper, the DJ. Anyone who's in the thing.
Because that's the line that actually matters — not genre, not skill, not how famous you got. It's whether you're inside the craft or outside it. Every design here is an inside reference — sometimes a joke, sometimes just a truth only the right person catches. Strip the context and a civilian's mildly confused. But a musician stops, looks closer, and thinks how did they know.
That's the whole point. The deeper you are, the more there is to catch. A design that makes a musician laugh — or just nod, because they've been there. The stuff you can't fake unless you've lived it, wherever you live in it. When you see the shirt, you're in on it. That's the membership.
Based in Los Angeles. Printed in the USA on premium blanks, because if you're going to wear the craft, it should hold up like you do.
Pull up a crate. Browse the aisles. If you're in it, you'll know.
